At the beginning of Alexandroupoli's main street, there is a building that divides the city in two. On its top floor, on a rooftop terrace overlooking the street from above, Gi & Ydor was born in 2026. Alexandroupoli is the first city from the Kipi border crossing, and one of the cities in Greece with the highest number of Turkish tourists. The view is not just beautiful. It is alive. The entire main street unfolds before you, changing colour with every hour of the day and becoming something else entirely at night, when the city lights come on and time changes its rhythm.
Our kitchen believes in the simplicity that requires deep knowledge. Choice meats from goat and veal are slowly grilled over charcoal, while buffalo is slow-cooked in the pot the traditional way that admits no hurry. Alongside them, ultra-fresh fish and seafood smelling of the sea, salads with pure ingredients and mezedes that honour the Greek table compose a meal worth the time. Our kitchen equipment is brand new, but its spirit and authenticity remain steadfast through time.
Stone, wood and earthy tones create a warm and distinctive space. Premium cutlery and tableware were chosen with the same care given to each dish. In summer, the panoramic glass facade opens fully and the breeze flows freely. You feel as if you are outside without losing any comfort. The retractable canopy leaves the sky visible, and the stars quietly become part of the evening. At the rooftop bar, a good cocktail opens or closes the story in the way it deserves. With a capacity of up to 100 guests, the space welcomes a large gathering and an intimate table for two with equal warmth.
